Mike was a beloved husband, father, papa and friend, who passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025 at the age of 85. He was surrounded by his loving family. Mike was a friend of Bill's for many years.
Born and raised in Boston, MA as the oldest child of Francis & Catherine (Brennan) Reilly. A graduate of Boston Latin School, captain of the football team, who won academic & athletic scholarship to Columbia University, NY where he attained Bachelor of Arts degree. He was recruited by Johnson & Johnson Co and employed in the finance division for over 25 years. While employed in the Texas subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, he attained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from New York University by mail. This was unique since this was the first time a MBA candidate was allowed to finish this program and graduate while residing out of state.
Mike was an avid sports fan (especially football), the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics and Bruins. Mike and Carole enjoyed traveling with their timeshares all throughout Florida, Cape Cod and Newport, RI. They also enjoyed many trips to Arizona, California and Tennessee. He was most proud of his Irish heritage and passed it on to his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carole (Wiegand) for nearly 65 years. She lived next door and then married while he was a freshman in college. Their four children are Kathleen Jordan, her husband Michael of Maynard, Michael Reilly, his wife Maureen of Thornton NH, Linda Reilly, her wife Michelle Varieur of Gardner and Dennis Reilly and his wife Joyce of Wakefield. With 11 cherished grandchildren, Kendall, her husband Chris, Kyle, her husband JC, Michael, Caroline, Peter, Julianne, Brian, Colin, Dan, Ben, his wife Tiana and Fionna Norman. He also had 7 great grandchildren Charlie, Jack, Ellis, Walker, Titus, Petra and Atlas.
He leaves behind his sister in law Marie Reilly, her husband Georges Arsenault, brother in law Fred Sullivan, his nephew Sean Mahoney along with many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Jack, Maureen and Cathy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral mass in memory of Mike on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 10AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 392 Hanover St. (rt 139) Hanover. The burial will follow in the Hanover Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mike's memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation T2T.org, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306.
