Francis O’Loughlin

Francis O'Loughlin, 95, of Pearl River, died peacefully in his sleep on February 13, 2024.
Frank was born the oldest of four children to Francis and Mary (O'Callaghan) O'Loughlin on June 4, 1928. Born and raised in the Bronx where he was affectionately known as Whitey by his Bronx crew. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a Staff Sargeant in Korea. When he returned home, he attended Manhattan College at night on the GI Bill. He was a proud Jasper and honored to have served his country. He enjoyed a 42-year career with Bell Labs before retiring in 1990.
Frank married his beloved wife, Margaret Louise Kelly in 1955, at St. Luke's Church in the Bronx. They moved to Pearl River in 1963 where they raised three children and happily lived together for 68 years.
Frank enjoyed many years of playing golf with his friends at Blue Hill Golf Course. The perfect day was a round of golf followed by the Nauraushaun Swim Club with family and friends. His retirement was blessed with 20 years of snow birding to Florida. He was an avid walker who loved to walk the woods and golf course near his home. He regularly walked to Mass. His favorite part of a walk was the people he met along the way. Most of all, he cherished his family, friends, and Catholic faith.
Pop's greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed deeply by his grandchildren Kevin (Briana), Breanne (AJ), Joey (Kim), Stephen (Madison), Keelin, Owen, Devon, and Hope. As well as his great grandchildren James, Kiera, Logan, Luke, Ariella, and Aidan.
Frank is survived by his loving wife Margaret Louise and his very grateful children, Ann McKenna of Pearl River, Stephen (Ellen) of Chatham, NJ, and Joseph (Maureen) of Pearl River.
His family will greatly miss the interest, enthusiasm, and gratitude he had for all of them.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Aedan's Church in Pearl River on Saturday February 24th at 10am. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
