JACKSONVILLE - Francis C. "Frank" Slavin, 89, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Infant of Prague Catholic Church with Rev. J. Victor Gournas officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Slavin was born in Alden, IL to the late Francis and Lola Herr Slavin. He retired from the USMC after thirty years of honorable service. He then founded and ran Slavin's Gallery in Jacksonville for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melanie Lee Gant Slavin; son, Mark Slavin; sister, Joan Slavin; sister, Grace Henschel; and brother, William "Bill" Slavin.

Survivors include his daughter, Karla Marie Slavin of Clyde, NC; son, Greg Slavin of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Kelly Johnson of Apex, NC; son, Timothy Slavin of Fort Mill, SC; sister, Esther Hamlin of Antioch, IL; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
