Francis Elwood "Jake" Wells

Francis "Jake" Elwood Wells, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, in Bellaire, Ohio, at the age of 93. Born on January 15, 1932, in Belmont County, Ohio, he lived a life marked by dedication to his family and service to his country.

Francis served honorably as a member of the United States Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran, demonstrating a commitment to duty that he carried throughout his life. Following his military service, he worked as a laborer for Ormet.

He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Wells, mother Lola (Palmer) Wells-Moore, step-father Kelly Moore, step-brother Louis Schluter, great-grandson Cody Walker, several brothers and sisters, and daughter-in-law Carol Wells.

Francis is survived by his loving daughter Malinda (Dale L Jackson Jr.) Wells, sons Charles (Brenda) Wells, and Robert Wells. He leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, as well as one cherished great-great-granddaughter.

Francis will be remembered for his steadfast presence and the love he shared with his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Family and Friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home 441 37th Street Bellaire, OH on Wednesday November 5, 2025 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 12:30. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
