Francis. D. Yager 88, of Guilford, NY, passed away Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 1st, 1937, in Oneonta, NY. Son of the late Clifford Yager and Elsie Hungerford (Shumway). Francis proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a journeyman, carpenter, and painter for many of his working years, and he loved to build things. In his later years he was a bus driver for Oneonta public transit. He loved people.
Francis is survived by his devoted wife of 70 Years Yvonne plus 8 children, Audie and Gail Yager of Oneonta, NY. Clifford Yager and family. Cindy and Dan Drake of Norwich, NY. Robin and Neal of Guilford, NY. Susan and Ralph Burrillo of Florida. Michael and Angie Yager of Ohio. Karen Hunter and Jay of New York City. Mark and Stacey Yager of Oneonta, NY, and Joe and Tish of Wellsbridge, NY
Francis is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother Darrell, and his wife Joan of Elmira, NY. He is predeceased by his brothers James Yager, Wayne Yager and Clifford Yager II.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc. Oxford, NY. A Graveside service with Military Honors will be held Saturday, September 20th at 12:00PM in the Milford Center Cemetery, Milford, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
