Francisca Rivera, 69, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg, Tx. She was born on October 3, 1951 in Laredo, TX to Encarnacion Rivera Sr. and Francisca Gomez Rivera.
She is survived by her brothers, Encarnacion (Maria Elena) Rivera Jr. of Edinburg and Oscar (Elva+) G. Rivera Sr. of Raymondville, numerous nieces and nephews, Gomez cousins, and best friend of many years, Shiela Lopez. She is preceded in death by her parents, Encarnacion Rivera Sr. and Francisca Gomez Rivera, eight siblings, and one nephew.
Francisca had a big heart and loved all her family. She loved to laugh and joke around with everyone, but especially loved to pick on her brother. She treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She enjoyed listening to music and playing the lotto (scratch-off tickets). Losing her is a huge loss to our family and we will miss her tremendously. We are grateful for the time we were given with her and will forever cherish the memories she left us with.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A chapel service was held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 9:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. A funeral procession followed to her final place of rest in the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers were Rolando Rivera, Encarnacion Rivera III, Justino G. Rivera, Rick Olivarez, Javier Rivera, Jose Rivera Jr., and Oscar Rivera Jr.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the caring hands of Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 1157 W. Hidalgo Ave., Raymondville, TX 78580.
