Francisco Mendoza entered into the hands of his Lord on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the age of 83. He was a long-time El Pasoan and an active member of the community for over 40 years. He was one of the founding members of Blessed Sacrament Athletic Association, coaching and mentoring hundreds of kids throughout the years.
He graduated from El Paso High School, then went on to serve our country during Vietnam as a proud airman in the US Air Force. He worked for the Department of Defense and retired from White Sands Missile Range after 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Ygnacia Mendoza, his sister, Francisca Moreno, and his son, Francisco Mendoza, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Carolina; his children: Cecilia, Rene (Merry) and Andrew; his grandchildren: Cassandra, Rico, Roman (Vivian), Victoria, Nicole, Cooper, Leilani, Keanu, and his great-grandchildren: Jaden, Kahlo, Xochitl, Adonis Francisco and Theseus. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 6:00pm on Monday, November 04, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home - Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Dr. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30pm on Tuesday, November 05, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9025 Diana Dr. Committal Service to follow at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 05, 2024 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave.
