Frank "Skip" George Baxter III April 26, 1935 – October 3, 2025 Frank "Skip" George Baxter III passed away peacefully in his home in Algonac, Michigan, on October 3, 2025. A lifelong resident of Algonac, Skip spent much of his life along the St. Clair River, where he found joy in boating and the beauty of his hometown. He was the beloved husband of the late Susan Baxter, and a devoted father to Michael (Kim) Baxter, Lisa (Henry) Argasinski, and Kristen (Mark Johnson) Baxter. He was a proud grandfather to Anne (Adam Denaway) Dennis, Thomas (Michelle) Baxter, Alyssa Dennis (Mitch) Haba, and Lauren (Tyler) Finses. Skip was the founder and owner of Baxter Insurance Agency in Algonac, where he served his community for many years. He was a past president of both the Algonac Lions Club and the Algonac Jaycees, and volunteered for many years with Big Brother. His drive and initiative made a meaningful impact on every organization he led. Skip will be remembered for his generous heart and his deep love for animals. He gave freely in support of local animal shelters and took great pride in caring for his family and the people around him. His kindness, quiet strength, and thoughtful nature will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Fair winds and following seas, our dear Skip.
