A Cox's Creek resident, Mr. Frank "Pop" John Berlinicke III, age 85, passed away peacefully in the early morning of April 27, 2025, in Hospice Care at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville with his daughters and friends by his side. He had complete home care for the last three and a half years with the help of his loving daughters. He was born March 12, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Gwendolyn Lucille Nunnelley and Frank John Berlinicke, Jr. Frank was a retired employee of Whayne Supply Co. after 27 years, was a member of Cox's Creek Baptist Church and was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was known for his wittiness, generosity and the love he shared with his family and many friends. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Judy Taylor Berlinicke, his son, James Culver, siblings, Rhonda Elkins and Phillip R. Berlinicke, nephew, Jeff Berlinicke, niece, Denise Elkins Earnshaw and brother-in-law, George Elkins. He is survived by his daughters, Carol Culver, Andrea (Joel) Shields, Lea R. Daugherty, all of Cox's Creek, grandchildren, Cindi (Lance) Sentell, Rachael (Bryant) Chamberlain, Johnathan (Abby) Shields, Jessica Daugherty, Hunter (Heather) Daugherty, great grandchildren, Chantell Calbert, Cherish Conner, Luna Rose Chamberlain, Jacob and Lilly Lee, Alivia Stevens, River Daugherty, as well as several nieces and nephews. Frank will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of those he touched. A celebration of Frank's life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown. Bro. Leland Parks will officiate. Interment will be in Cox's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00-8:00 pm with a time of sharing at 6:00 pm. Additional visitation will be Saturday after 8:30 am until time of the funeral service. The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
