Frank Bianchetta Obituary

Frank J. Bianchetta of Plainfield, age 77, was called home to the Lord unexpectedly in Naperville, IL on July 2, 2025. He was born to his parents Ernest Bianchetta and Lenora Bianchetta (née Persich) on February 13, 1948, in Joliet, IL.

Frank was born and raised in Joliet, IL. He graduated from Joliet East High School as a member of the class of 1966, graduated from Southern Illinois University as a proud Saluki, and went on to secure his master’s degree from the University of Illinois. He spent the majority of his career as a Business Development Manager for Chicago Bridge & Iron.

Frank was a guiding force in the lives of his wife, his daughters, and many others that had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaned on his faith and personal experience to provide leadership and support to those in need. He was a morally upstanding individual with the ability to remain steadfast in his convictions, and unwavering in his strength and commitment. His high level of integrity led to him being a valued longtime member of the Hope Lutheran Church Men’s Club, and he was always very active in providing support and assistance to his church and his fellow church members along with his family and friends. He loved his family dearly, always making himself available to support the many passions and activities of his children and grandchildren. He also lived his life with great personal passion. He was an avid runner who competed in multiple marathons and triathlons, and he was a proud Golden Gloves boxer who fought his final match at the age of seventy-seven, just days before his passing. He also loved to spend his free time outdoors tending to his impressive vegetable garden at home and hunting, fishing, working hard, and taking care of his cabin in Brighton, IL. He was happiest when he was spending time with the family and many friends that he loved so fiercely.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Lenora Bianchetta.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years Sheryl Bianchetta (née Whitaker); his daughters Brandy (Jeff) Petrilla, Nikki (Doug) Skedel, and Amy (Cliff) DePratt; his grandchildren Alexis (Jake) Indelicato, Anthony, Margaret, and Sofia Petrilla, Frank, Dean, and Vincent Skedel, and Benjamin, Eleanora, and Lena DePratt; his siblings Cathy (Jerry) Patton, Ernie (Jana) Bianchetta, and Mike (Renee) Bianchetta; his dear friend of seventy years Ted (Frankie) Overcash; and his close friends Kenny and Sandy Churchman. Many other extended family members, friends, and other loved ones, too numerous to name individually, also survive.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites his loved ones to take action in his memory. Perform an act of service for another human being in need, as Frank took the opportunity to do so often throughout his life, and take an extra moment with someone you love dearly in honor of so many moments that Frank’s family thought they would still have with him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, 305 W. Black Rd, Shorewood, IL on Saturday, July 26, 2025. The Rev. William Ryden will be the officiant. There will be a visitation from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and a service at 12 p.m. with a luncheon to follow at the church.
