Frank R. Curson
April 17, 1945 - November 5, 2025
Frank Curson, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Frank graduated from Whitmer High School in 1963. Shortly after, he began a remarkable 44-year career with Ford Motor Company-first as an assembler, then as a tool & die maker, and later as a supervisor. Known for his steady nature, sharp mind, and strong work ethic, he took great pride in his craft and the many friendships he built over his years with Ford.
In 1965, Frank married his high school sweetheart and love of his life. He and "Bevie" raised their three children in North Toledo, where life on Tarrytown Drive – surrounded by wonderful neighbors and lifelong friends – was filled with warmth, laughter, and family. In 1990, they built their retirement home just over the border in Temperance, Michigan, developing a 10-acre farm field into their own personal wildlife sanctuary.
Frank and Beverly shared more than 60 amazing years together, full of love, travel, and simple joys, including afternoons in the sunroom, adventures around the world, and summers on the golf course (his favorite pastime). His idea of a perfect day was an early tee time followed by an afternoon puttering in the yard.
An avid Ohio State football fan, Frank's loyalty to the Buckeyes ran deep. Saturdays in the fall were sacred, and he never missed a game-cheering loudly, analyzing every play, and celebrating every victory. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making people laugh – especially with his bad Dad jokes and puns ("just for the halibut"). He also found great joy in watching the wildlife – from feeding the birds, deer, and turkeys that filled his backyard to spotting the Big 5 (and more!) on safaris in Africa.
Above all, Frank was the heart of his family-a devoted husband, dedicated father, adoring grandfather, and loyal friend. He was rarely seen without a shirt proclaiming his pride as a grandfather, and he attended dozens and dozens of his grandkids' games, concerts, and performances through the years. He treasured his time with each one of them, always ready with a hug and a "so proud of you." His love was constant, quiet, and unconditional-a steady presence that will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly; and their three children, Sara (Brian) Preston, Steven (Cally) Curson, and Ann (Jon) Friedholm. He was the proud grandfather of Jenna (Mike), Delaney, Ben, Tyler, Allison, Ryan, Eric, Trevor, Taylor, Alison, Tabitha (Ryan), Travis, and Savanna; and great-grandfather of Liam, Aria, and Jace.
He is also survived by his sister, Alice Schorling. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Kathryn Curson; and siblings, George Curson, Mary Beck, Nancy Moore, and David Curson.
Frank's celebration of life will be on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd., Temperance, MI, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., followed by an informal remembrance service at 1:00 p.m. In his honor, please feel free to dress "Frank-casual," e.g. golf shirt or OSU gear!
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to two organizations most meaningful to him: Habari Foundation International or the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation.
