Frank R. Dase, 86 of Winnebago, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2023 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amboy, with visitation one hour prior. Burial with military honors will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery, Amboy.
Frank was born on April 14, 1937 to Fred and Edith (Holcomb) Dase in Sterling Township, Blue Earth County, Amboy, Minnesota. He graduated from Amboy High. Frank married Helen Schwardt of Amboy on October 17, 1959. In 1960, Frank was drafted into the United States Army and spent two years at Ft. Riley, Kansas. After being discharged from the army in 1962, he brought his family back to Amboy. Then, in 1964, Frank and family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where they lived for four years. After getting some electrical experience in Arizona, the family decided to move back to Amboy. In 1970, Frank started a small electric business, Amboy Electric, serving the community for over 40 years. Frank retired in 2012 due to health issues.
Frank was a simple man. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years, cars, working as an electrician, and hunting. Frank and Helen also spent many years enjoying their time on the farm, raising their boys and gardening.
Frank is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen; 3 sons, Gene of Mankato, Michael of Dallas, TX, and Matthew of Moorhead; sister-in-law, Beverly Dase of AZ, and nieces and nephews.
Preceding Frank in death are his parents, sisters, Irene (Harold) Kleen and Helen (Charles) Nystrom, and brother, Fred W. Dase, Jr.
Memorials are preferred to St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center of Blue Earth, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Amboy, or as the donor wishes.
Frank’s family wishes to thank all of the dedicated staff at St. Luke’s for their continued support and care.
