Roger Warren Dase, affectionately known as "Rog", passed away peacefully too soon, from natural causes on September 17,2025, in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey. He was 78 years old. Born on February 16, 1947, In Atlantic City, N.J. Roger was the beloved son of the late Arthur and Louise Dase and grew up surrounded by a large and lively family. He is predeceased by his siblings Arthur, Marion, Allen, Loraine, Hattie and Larry. Roger joined the Marine Corps at just 18 years old, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to serving the country he loved. His commitment and patriotism remained a constant source of pride. Roger was a sports fan; in his younger years he loved to play and watch sports. In his "mature" years he still loved watching sports, and could be found in his chair watching his teams (depending on the season) or a good Western. Roger enjoyed the outdoors boating, camping and fishing. Roger was a joker and had a quirky sense of humor. He enjoyed laughter and especially laughing with Marilou. Roger leaves behind his wife Marilou of 27 years; and his "girls", daughters Shannon Alder (spouse Phil), and Heather Hooglander (spouse Frankwin). Grandchildren Kaitlin Irvin, Shane Alder, Emily Porter, Zach Alder, Hannah Sciola, Mya Sciola, and Josilyn Walshon; and great-grandchildren Henry and Harper Irvin and Leo Gherls-Sciola. The family wishes to acknowledge Michael Ford as a longtime partner in crime and true friend. Mike's visits these last several years were highlights of Rogers week. "Matthew 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted." A viewing in his honor will be held on Monday September 22, 2025, from 4 to 6:30pm, with family services from 6:30 pm to 7 pm, at Wimberg Funeral home - 400 Liverpool Avenue, Egg Harbor City, N.J. 08215. Marilou and family . Our sincere condolences on the passing of Roger. It was a pleasure to work with him for many years at the Atlantic Palace. He was a great man and a proud United States Marine Corp veteran . May you have some comfort at this difficult time in your memories of him. Rest in peace Roger , thank you for your service my friend !

I am very sorry to hear about Roger's passing. We went to school together in Brigantine, graduated 8th grade together in 1962. I ran into him years later when he was at the Taj and caught up.
