Frank T. Fasline Jr., 83
Campbell On Saturday, July 27th, 2024, angels were sent to trumpet the entrance of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Frank T. Fasline, Jr., into God's paradise. He is finally at peace in the arms of Our Lord and surrounded by all his loved ones who have preceded him.
Frank T. Fasline, Jr. was born on May 18th, 1941, to Frank T. Sr. and Kathryn (Petretich) Fasline. A devout Christian, he was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and currently, St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Youngstown, Ohio.
After graduating in 1959 from Ursuline High School, Frank actively began his ardent pursuit of his professional goals. With limited funds, he worked a myriad of jobs in order to afford the tuition to attend Youngstown State University. He was employed at General Motors before taking the position of controller at Republic Steel Works, while simultaneously attending YSU and attaining his bachelor's degree in business administration. Shortly after receiving his degree, Frank began his long tenure as the treasurer of Campbell City Schools. Always a Campbell advocate, Frank was also very civic-minded and dedicated to the youth of our city. Among a plethora of community endeavors, he served as a member of Campbell Civil Service Commission and was also an organizer and co-founder of the Campbell Little Red Devils Football League. Armed with the strong work ethic of his ancestors, Frank continued to work and volunteer well after his retirement; and, at the time of his passing, he was still actively involved in running the family business, Rainbow Fireworks.
On August 4th, 1962, Frank married his lifelong love, Marietta (Happy) Hanlon Fasline. Together, Frank and Happy raised two extraordinary children, Michael and Colleen, who revered their father as their protector, advisor and beloved patriarch. Frank was the "North Star" of the family, always present, always supportive, challenging them to live their best lives. His altruism was extended not only to his immediate family, but also to all of those he loved and were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Family, friends and faith were the cornerstones of his life. He found the greatest joy in life's simple pleasures, attending his children and grandchildren's events, fishing with his father, brothers and friends, dancing at Idora Park, listening to Italian bands at Briar Hill festivals, making homemade wine and continuing the Italian tradition learned in his parents' home – traditions that will continue forever.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his most devoted wife of 62 years, Happy; his beloved children, Micheal of Cortland and Colleen (Andrew) Frank of Neshannock, Pa; his cherished grandchildren, Frankie and Mikey Fasline, both of Hubbard; his granddaughter Dr. Taylor (Connor) Richards of Canfield, and Domenic Frank of Neshannock, Pa; a treasured great-grandson Miguelino Fasline; his loving sisters, Kathy Kostelnik and Mary Ellen Kavoklis (Tom Manos) both of Boardman; brother-in-law, Frank Phillips of Campbell, and sister-in-law, Cindy Fasline. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and "friends turned family" also deeply mourn his loss.
Frank is joined in God's paradise by his parents; his in-laws, Jim and Marge Hanlon; his sister, Joyce Phillips; his brothers, John (Mugsy) and Dr. Ronald Fasline; his brother-in-law Dr. Nick Kavoklis and all of those he loved that have gone before him.
In fulfillment of Frank's wishes, a private funeral service was held at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church. Interment took place at Riverside Cemetery in Poland.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support and condolences that have greatly comforted our family during this most difficult time. Also, in an effort to preserve his legacy, we encourage friends and loved ones to share memories and reflections at
