Frank Hardin Obituary

Frank lived in Mt. Vernon his entire life, and grew up hunting and fishing on the Ohio and Wabash Rivers. He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. Following graduation, he served in the United States Army. Frank retired in 1995 from Mt. Vernon Screw Products after 45 years of service, and began mowing lawns for people in the area. He spent his time tinkering in his garage, working in the yard, sitting in his duck blind and taking care of his purple martins. Frank always had a friendly smile for others as he passed. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Mt. Vernon Conservation Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Cain) and 11 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his two sons, Frank Hardin and Ronald Hardin (Judith); five grandchildren, Dwayne, Angela, Jeffrey, Diane and Samantha; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher, Shelby, Austin, Rhys, Grant, Alice and Cameron; sister, Mary Cox; many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Grace Lowrey.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Mt. Vernon, IN with pastor Joshua Hammond-Kelley officiating and burial to follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to At the Cross Mission in Mt. Vernon.

Uncle Frank will be missed. My mothers brother was our favorite uncle who always had a smile and hug for us and we loved him. Tell mom we miss her too!
