Frank Howard was born on December 17, 1948, in Aberdeen, Mississippi, to the late William and Ida Mae Howard. On August 1, 2025, he was peacefully called home to be with the Lord. Frank accepted Christ at an early age and remained a devoted servant of God throughout his life. For over 39 years, he served faithfully as a deacon at the Church of Brotherly Love, living by example and inspiring others through his walk of faith. He attended Iroquois Job Corps, where he earned his high school diploma and certifications in construction, metal welding, and masonry. His dedication to hard work led him to a 30-year career as a welder and construction worker with Trojan Industries Tractors & Construction and later with Steven General Construction, before retiring in 2015. He was a proud member of Laborers' Union Local #435.
Frank relocated from Mississippi to New York in 1967, settling in Batavia and eventually Rochester, where he built a life grounded in love, family, and service. A true family man, Frank was known for his wise counsel, quiet strength, warm laughter, and unwavering presence. Whether offering life lessons, lending a hand, or simply showing up with humility and grace, Frank touched countless lives as a father, grandfather, mentor, deacon, and friend. His legacy of love, faith, and support lives on in all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ida Mae Howard; siblings Lula Howard-Clay, Sandra Howard, Steve Howard, Joseph Howard, Caroline Howard, and Ann Howard. Frank leaves to cherish his memory: the mother of his children, Margaret Howard; his seven beloved children: Patricia Howard, Latricia Howard, Frankie Sampson, Marsha Howard, William Howard, Samantha Howard, and Sarah Howard; a host of grandchildren: Ashley (Christian) Swain, Heather Francis, Richard Seawright, Jessica Rodriguez, Anthony Rosado, Frank Howard, Nasir Williams, Bryan Sampson Jr., Ernisa Howard, Ayanna Sampson, Eris Orta, Immanuel Rodriguez, Tanea Howard, Giovanni Pacheco, Anthony Cato, Jr., Arturo Pacheco, Cy-Young Howard, Kamari Howard, Karmello Howard, Zymir Williams, and Aunrie Howard, Ezekiel Randolph and Ishmael Gonzales; siblings: Edna Rice, Ella Howard-Brand, Adell Howard, Isaac Howard, and Charles (Crystal) Howard; many great-grandchildren, adopted
children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who loved and respected him dearly.
