Marilyn Howard Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 8, 2025.
Marilyn Flora Howard, 91, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, in Katy, Texas. She was born on September 4, 1934, in Buffalo, New York, to William and Gladys Ninedorf. At a young age, Marilyn moved with her family to Houston, Texas, where she grew up and later graduated from Houston Lamar High School. She went on to attend the University of Houston, where she remained a proud and devoted alumna throughout her life.

Marilyn was a strong, independent businesswoman who built a successful career with IA Namen Plus Associates, where she dedicated more than 30 years of service. Her adventurous spirit led her to live in both Houston and Tucson, Arizona, and to travel extensively around the world. She loved playing golf, bridge, and mahjong, and was an enthusiastic sports fan who enjoyed cheering on her favorite teams.

She is survived by her loving family: her son, Keith Howard and his wife Robbie; grandchildren Sarah Tyler and her husband Colton and their children Kinley, Bowen, and Hudson; Ashton Serrano; step-son Dan Bertke and his wife Lisa; granddaughter Jenna Shallcross and her husband Kevin and their daughter Rowen; step-sons Chuck Bertke and Frank A. Bertke; along with many other cherished family members and dear friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gladys Ninedorf; her brother, Rev. Robert Ninedorf; her sister, Virginia Hartman; and her beloved husband Frank Bertke.

Marilyn will be remembered for her strength, independence, love of family, and zest for life. Her legacy of resilience and joy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
