William Franklin "Sarge" Johnston
August 19, 1941 - September 12, 2024
Frank “Sarge” Johnston, 83, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away on September 12, 2024. He was born in Welch, WV, to Julius and Mary Johnston. Frank was a businessman who founded several pawn shops in Ohio, including Frank’s Pawn Shop in Gallipolis and Wilmington Pawn and Exchange.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Johnston; children Bradley (Michelle) Johnston and Krystal (Tim) Spurlock and their mother, Sharon George Johnston Maldonado; grandchildren Franklin, Kourtney, Sydney, Caden, and Garin; great-grandchildren Kozekiel, Kaizen, Eleanor, and Dominic; and sisters Linda, Loneda, Betty, and Trudy. He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 5, 2024, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Wilmington Elks Lodge.
