Frank P. Kunik

Dr. Frank P. Kunik, Jr., D.O., 47, of Berkshire, NY passed away on September 2, 2021. He is survived by his father Frank P. Kunik, Sr.; siblings Dale (Diane) Hill, Chris Kunik, Judy (William) Gilbreath, Kit (David) Michaud, Paul M. Kunik, and Michael J. Kunik; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Carol L. Kunik. Frank will also be missed by his colleagues and students at AUIS University (American University of Integrative Sciences, School of Medicine.
Frank began his work in the medical field at the age of 16 as a hospital volunteer. His career has spanned a broad range of positions, including a general hospital aide, in critical care, the emergency room, psychiatry, and even as a hospital switchboard operator! Frank used his knowledge and skills to serve others, and while completing his residency in Internal Medicine, spent time volunteering and working with the indigent population of Mexico. Frank especially enjoyed his time as a radiologic technologist in inner-city, level one trauma centers. This position afforded him the opportunity to perform trauma radiography in many different parts of the United States. He enjoyed traveling and working in many renowned hospitals from Seattle to Boston.
Frank began teaching early in his career and was committed to working with students on an individual level, bringing out the best in them and always making time for additional one-on-one meetings as needed. He took pride in his work and his gift for teaching has had a lasting impact on the many students who were fortunate to have been under his tutelage.
Friends and family are invited to the First Congregational Church of Berkshire for a period of visitation on Saturday, Sept. 11th from 1 - 2 pm, at which time a celebration of his life will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the First Congregational Church of Berkshire, 12445 State Route 38 Berkshire, NY 13736, in loving memory of Frank.
