Frank Joseph LaCapra Sr.

Frank Joseph LaCapra, Sr., 77, a longtime resident of Cedar Grove, NJ for over 50 years, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, where he resided for 18 years before moving to Cedar Grove with his wife, Antoinette.
Prior to retiring, Frank owned and operated Frank LaCapra Interior Painting in Cedar Grove where he was loved and respected by his customers, many of them becoming good friends.
Beloved husband of 54 years of Antoinette (nèe DeMaio) LaCapra. The loving father of Frank LaCapra, Jr. and wife Jennifer, James LaCapra, Sr., Carla Guglielmi and husband Michael and daughter-in-law Jodi. Adored grandfather of Grace, Jane, James Jr., Jake, Jianna, Michael and Téa. The cherished son of Marietta (nèe Salvato) and the late Robert LaCapra. Dear brother of the late Nancy LaCapra, Nanette Rotonda and husband Joseph, Donna LaCapra and Johnine LaCapra. Dear brother-in-law of Judith Frasso. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his family, Frank's passion and love was with the New York Yankees and Kansas City Chiefs. He could spend hours reminiscing of players and teams, especially Mickey Mantle and Len Dawson. Frank was also an avid bowler who started as a kid alongside his Uncle Johnny and Uncle Vinnie, and continued to bowl in many leagues as an adult with his good friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, June 5, 2025, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 6, 2025, 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Angels, 473 Main Street, Little Falls, NJ.
