Rosa Lacapra
"Loving mother, grandmother & aunt"
Rosa (Armiento) Lacapra, 84, of Waterbury, was reunited with her husband in heaven on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Vito R. Lacapra.
Rosa was born in Tolve, Italy, on December 29, 1937, daughter of the late Nicola and Lucia (Frontuto) Armiento. For over 23 years, Rosa worked for Waltec Forging Co. until her retirement. Rosa adored her family, always enjoyed cooking for them, and loved traveling to Italy to visit them as well as friends. She was an avid solitaire player, and always loved talking to family and friends on the phone.
Rosa leaves behind to cherish her memory her two children, Antonio Lacapra and his fiancée Carmen D. Benitez, and Lucia Failla and her husband Sebastian Jr. of Watertown. She also leaves behind her two grandchildren, Angelina, and Christina Failla, as well as many nieces and nephews in the United States and Italy. She was predeceased by her two siblings, Raffaela (Armiento) Lacapra, and Domenico Armiento. She also leaves behind her dog Charlie, whom she loved and adored.
Arrangements: A funeral will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, 7:45 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Old Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Waterbury. Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
