Francis (Frank) Leon Orr, 85, passed away in his sleep on Sunday, February 15, 2026, with Lynn, his wife of nearly 62 years at his side.
After graduating from St James High School in Ferndale, Michigan, Frank entered the novitiate for the religious order of The Glenmary Home Missioners. The novitiate was in Fairfield, Connecticut, and after two years, he realized that religious life was not for him. He then worked as a furniture refinisher for the Higbee Company for 6 years. He met Lynn in September 1963, and they were married in June 1964. In January 1966, Frank made his final career change, joining the Prudential Life Insurance Company. He left Prudential in 1980 and became co-owner of Heipp Insurance Company, where he finished his insurance career in 2002. He found retirement was too boring, so he ran a remodeling and refinishing business for a few years.
Frank’s many interests included genealogy, resulting in a comprehensive family tree document and numerous find a grave services for others. He also enjoyed working in his yard and garden, building jigsaw puzzles, and taking care of Lynn. Although he admitted ‘not having a serious bone in his body,’ he was extremely attentive to Lynn and even cut fabrics with her for her quilting projects. He continued to be active in his children’s home projects and with his friends at the North Royalton YMCA until his final days. Frank will be greatly missed by all.
Frank is survived by his wife, Lynn; children, Karen Keaton (Curt), Jim (Ingrid Spellman), Marcia Lange (Rob Edwards), and Tom (Leigh); and grandchildren, Brian Keaton (Isabella), Kevin Keaton, John Orr, Greg Orr, Nick Orr, Kai Orr, Summer Orr, and Gaia Eidson; sister, Barbara Flowers; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Leona Orr; sister, Virginia Hilbert; brother, Robert Orr; and sister, Marjorie Ellison.
Visitation will be at Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma, on Thursday, February 19 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20 at 10:00 am at Busch Funeral Home, with interment immediately following at North Royalton Cemetery.
