Frank Patota Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home - Doylestown on Mar. 11, 2026.
Frank M. Patota, 96, of Buckingham Springs, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026. He was the son of the late Dominick and Rosina Patota of New Rochelle, NY, and older brother to the late Joseph Patota (Pauline).

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of more than 70 years, Joan C. Patota, and by his children Frank (Joyce), Michael (Pam), Stephen (Laraine), Patrick (Eunok), and Joanie, who will forever hold his guidance, example, and love in their hearts. He was the proud grandfather of Michael Jr., Jeffrey, Stephen Jr., Annie, Eric, Justin, Anthony, Nicholas, Ryan, and Jason, and a cherished great-grandfather to 9. He is also fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Frank earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University and devoted 30 years of service to the United States Government at the Frankford Arsenal and the Defense Industrial Supply Center, followed by 10 years as a consultant. At the Arsenal, he contributed to improving Air Force pilot safety, including work on the design and testing of ejection seats during a critical period in the 1960s and 1970s.

He also served honorably in the U.S. Army.

An avid golfer, Frank was a scratch golfer in his youth with multiple holes-in-one, numerous golf honors, and a double eagle at age 78. He enjoyed jazz music, Italian family dinners, travel, and participating in the Buckingham Springs golf group. His lifelong curiosity and love of technology kept his mind sharp and young throughout his long life. His biggest passion was loving and caring for his wife and family.

Frank will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

The family will receive their friends at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown, PA 18902 on Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 am, with a Funeral Mass to begin at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow with military honors at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940 at 1:00 pm.

Cremation services were private.
