Lieutenant Colonel Frank David Pulis, Esq., PMP, 72, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Great-Uncle, was called to his eternal resting place on May 28, 2022 in Austin, Texas. He entered this world in March of 1950 in Berlin, Germany. He was born, the oldest of seven, to David, a U.S. Army soldier, and his wife Gertrud Pulis.
Frank spent his first four years in Germany before his father was assigned to Massachusetts in 1954. The family returned to Germany in 1959, followed by a transfer to Long Island, New York in 1962. Frank attended junior high and high school there, graduating from Brentwood High School in 1968.
Frank attended the Air Force Academy and graduated with the great class of '72. After the academy, he received his Juris Doctorate from University of Denver, became a member of the Colorado Bar Association and served in the US Air Force for 21 years. He served in many states and countries and in various roles during his time with the JAG corps. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Philips LMS, Maytag Aircraft Corp, Excell, Colorado Springs School District 11, Webster University, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and Lower Colorado River Authority before finally retiring from the workforce.
Frank lived in Kyle, Texas for nearly 25 years and was a valued member with American Veterans Post TX 115 in Kyle. Frank could often be found visiting and helping out his many brothers and sisters all in the central Texas area. He enjoyed traveling the country, visiting nearly every state, and cruising the open seas around North America and Europe. He also enjoyed motorcycle rides with his wife, swimming in his pool, and crafting many custom works in his woodshop for many hours of the day. He was a loving father to his sons and daughter-in-law and treasured spending time with his granddaughters and the family's many pets. Frank was a cherished brother to his six siblings and their spouses, and a beloved uncle and great-uncle to dozens of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
He is survived by his spouse of 48 years Susan T. Pulis (Kyle, TX); sons David (Long Island, NY) and Daniel Pulis (Houston TX); daughter-in-law Laura Pulis; brothers and sisters Doris (Marty) Kuester, Linda Dufault, Michael (Cyndi) Pulis, Steve (Susan) Pulis, Brian (Patti) Pulis, (all in Kyle, TX) and Deborah (Carlton) Ottmers (Fredericksburg, TX); and granddaughters Shannon and Kelly Pulis.
We would like to thank all the Nurses, Doctors, and Chaplain Staff at Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin Texas for all the care, hospitality, and humanity for taking care of Frank Pulis in his final days.
