Frank Rogers Obituary

Frank Douglas Rogers, 91, of Signal Mountain passed away on Oct. 18, 2016. Originally from Estill Springs, Tenn., he served with the Navy in the Pacific during World War II and the Korean War. He came to Chattanooga after the war and started his lifelong career in the printing industry. He loved being involved in sports whether as a coach or a participant. He was extremely proud to be in the Senior Olympics where he medaled in multiple events. He was a member of Toastmasters International. As a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church he served as a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He truly enjoyed many years as the pitcher for the church softball team; Going to the YMCA with his wife Nola and friends as a highlight of his retirement. Frank joins his wife Nola who passed on Oct. 24, 2015. He is survived by the family he was so proud of, his children, Kathy (Keith), of Signal Mountain, Marcia (Cornelius), of Hixson and Randy (Missy) Rogers, of St. Simons Island, Ga. He is loved by the grandchildren and great-grandchildren that grew up with him in their lives, Brandon, Christopher, Mary Beth, Tanner, Logan, Brittney, Lainey, Lena and Jenora. In the past three years our family has been honored by the help and friendship of Cynthia Bureau. She loved both Frank and Nola and took such excellent care of them. Frank was her special "buddy." A graveside service for family and friends will be held at Hamilton Memorial Gardens on Nov. 5, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. Arrangements are by Hamilton Funeral Home & Cremation Services 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson 423-531-3975.
