Frank "Jimmy" Wilson Rolen, 90, a 76-year resident of Edgewater, Maryland and previously of Sevierville, Tennessee passed away on June 24, 2025 in his home. Jimmy was born on January 19, 1935 in Sevierville to the late Harlen Lee Rolen and Margaret Jessie (Gann) Rolen. Jimmy established his career as a Master Commercial Electrician acquiring many certifications in his field. He spent the majority of his working career with Electric Service Co. After retiring, he went on to work for the State of Maryland as a Facilities Manager for the Maryland School for the Deaf. Jimmy was a huge sports fan. He loved watching every sport imaginable at all levels, whether it be professional, college, or even youth. In his younger days, he coached youth softball and played many tennis matches. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Joy Anne (Hardesty) Rolen and his brother, Billy Coker Rolen of Louisiana. He is survived by his sons, Troy Wayne Rolen (Alison) of Moneta, VA and Todd William Rolen (Regina) of Maryville, TN; his daughters, Dawn Michele Ristaino (Peter) of Harwood, MD and Stacey Ann Cole (James) of Davidsonville, MD; his thirteen grandchildren, Austin Rolen (Stephanie), Maria Contreras (Victor), Kimberly Rolen (Tim Dean), Erica Beans (Kevin), Matthew Rolen (Kara), Luke Rolen, Megan Cole, Zachary Cole, Maxwell Cole, Logan Cole, Hunter Cole, Mia Cole, and Sara Rolen; and his eleven great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jimmy's life on Tuesday, July 1 from 4 to 6 pm at Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD, followed immediately by his funeral service at 6 pm. Interment will be private.
