Frank Walter Schutz, 80, passed away on November 4, 2025. He was born on January 4, 1945, in Orangeville Township to Walter Fred and Nita Mae (Null) Schutz. Frank was a graduate of the Delton-Kellogg High School Class of 1963. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he earned the Army Commendation Medal for heroism.

On December 27, 1980, Frank married the love of his life, Ola Dean Johnson, with whom he shared a bond of love and devotion for 45 years. Together, they built a family and a life filled with memories, from quiet evenings at home to adventures in nature.

Frank worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation for 27 years before retiring in 1997. He loved hunting, fishing, the Upper Peninsula, Alaska, and his loyal beagles. Frank was also a passionate fan of the oldest of country music. Frank had a way of saying so much with just a smirk or a grunt, and his quiet sense of humor and steady presence made him a friend to many. People loved being around him, and his family always knew, in his own way, how much he cared.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, Bobby Schutz and Johnny Christensen. Frank is survived by his wife, Ola; children Shannon (George Krenner) Green, Jeff Schutz, Jason (Jada) Christensen, and Amanda (Kevin) Washburn; grandchildren Kellyn Brewer, Jamie Green, Chloe Schutz, Johnny Christensen, Jessica Christensen, Hank Schutz, and Maddy Schutz; four great-grandchildren; siblings Larry Schutz, Julie Cochran, Laurie Schutz; numerous nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog, Hank.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Girrbach Funeral Home. To leave an online condolence, visit www.girrbachfuneralhome.net
