Frank Joseph Tarantino Jr., 76, of Mercer, Wisconsin, formerly of Champaign, Illinois, and Tuscola, Illinois, passed away at home on August 10, 2025.

Frank was born in Chicago on April 13th, 1949, the eldest son of Frank and Florence (Special) Tarantino.

Frank graduated from St. Laurence High School in Oak Lawn, IL, and attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. Frank was a veteran who served his country in the US Army. He was stationed in Korea.

Following his service, he was employed as a maintenance worker and painter at USI (later named Quantum and Lyondell) in Tuscola, IL, for 27 years.

Frank is survived by his son Frank (Claire) Tarantino, his grandsons, Mark and Luke Tarantino, his sister Laura (Willie) Simpson, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank enjoyed fishing on the beautiful waters of northern Wisconsin, running marathons, vacationing in Hawaii, and just being outdoors. He especially liked spending time with his son and grandsons, to whom he was totally devoted. He will be missed.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 on Sunday, August 17th, at McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home in Ironwood, MI. A memorial service for Frank will be held at a later time.

Memorials may be made to an organization of the donor's choice in Frank's name.
