Frank Kalmar Wilko passed away May 1, 2024 just shy of his 85th birthday after battling Melanoma cancer.  He was born on May 11, 1939 in Salt Lake City to Noel Wilko and Laura Kalmar.   He had a twin brother Fred and a younger sister Terry Rae. He married Diatra Sill on April 9, 1965 in the Salt Lake Temple and were married for 59 years.  They had 5 children.

He graduated from East High School and joined the US Army Reserve. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1965 and excelled in his career field in the banking and finance industry.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a mission to the Netherlands. Later, he and his wife served 2 missions together.  He served as Bishop of the Bountiful 42nd Ward and was a temple worker in the Ogden temple.  He held various positions in the church throughout his life. He loved the church and knew the importance of forgiveness.

He was an avid scouter. He loved to do yardwork, garden, camp, ski and watch sports. He also played the accordion.  There was no repair job he didn’t think that could do and try himself.   His passion was pulling black irrigation pipe at 2 am in the morning and balancing his checkbook.

The family would like to thank Applegate Homecare and Hospice for the wonderful care that they gave to Frank and our family.

He is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife Diatra and his children Brett (Kari) Wilko, Jayson (Teresa) Wilko, Joelle (Scott) Taylor, Ryan (Kellie) Wilko and Evan Wilko.  He loved all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
