Frankie Perrin Hicks, age 83, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at her home with family at her side. Frankie loved life and stayed busy. She started out working at Millers Department Store in cosmetics and continued there for seven years. She was a volunteer at St. Joseph and Catholic High when Tim and DeeDee attended. When her granddaughter, Lindsey, was at Belle Morris, she started The Red Cross Clinic and received the award for best clinic in the Knox area. Later she became the Red Cross Instructor for athletic schools.
She was awarded the Lifetime PTA membership from Belle Morris School. She was a school teacher for Knox Co. for several years. She and Jim worked the elections and were ushers at The Tennessee Theatre for years. She was on The John T. O'Connor Senior Center Advisory Board for six years. Frankie was also a member of the Gift Shop and The O'Connor Ballroom Dance Club. She worked at many fundraisers at the O'Connor Center, Pancake Fest, and Golf Tournament. She and Jim received the John Duncan Award in 2012 for their volunteer work through the years. Frankie was an auxiliary member of FOP Lodge #31. She served as Vice President and Trustee for the lodge and State FOP. She was also owner of Exceptional Tours.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jim Hicks; parents, Zenna "Doobie" and Gladys Perrin; sisters, Evelyn Perrin of Knoxville, TN, Ruth O'Dell (Tom) of Newport, TN, and Carolyn Comer (David); brother, Mike Perrin (Star) Knoxville; and granddaughter, Talyn Hicks of Knoxville, TN.
She leaves behind her son, Timothy "Tim-TC" Hicks; daughter, DeAnna "DeeDee" Williams (Lance); grandson, Trevor Hicks (Meghan); granddaughter, Lindsey Lamb Newton (John); great-granddaughter, Maylee Hicks; nieces, Joy Large (Steve), and Susie O'Dell of Newport, TN; and several other nieces and nephews and many friends.

Family and friends will meet at 1:45 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Asbury Cemetery for a 2:00 PM graveside service and interment.
