Frankie Lou Meeks, age 88, of Gatesville, Texas, passed peacefully away to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, October 24, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Scott's Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Parks officiating. Burial will follow at the Gatesville City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday November 1 at the funeral home.
Frankie was born on March 19, 1937 in Gatesville, Texas to Ralph and Gertie Grafe. She graduated from Gatesville High School in 1954, where she was active in archery and basketball. The following year, Frankie wed her high school sweetheart, Ranzell Meeks, and they enjoyed a lifelong marriage of 70 years. After 22 years working at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, she spent her retirement RV travelling with her beloved husband and friends. Frankie was a devoted member of Eastwood Baptist Church, where she faithfully worshipped alongside her church family. She has a passion for sewing and quilting; one of her greatest joys was making matching outfits for her granddaughters, stitching love into every detail. She was truly the glue that held the family together - sometimes with hugs, sometimes with advice, and often with a fresh batch of cookies.
Frankie is survived by her daughter, Julie Grubb; her son, John Meeks; granddaughter, Alex Montgomery and her husband William; granddaughter, Elizabeth Carren; and great-grandsons, Matthew and Austin Carren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastwood Baptist Church.
