Franklin Glen Jones

Franklin "Glen" Jones, 70, of Turners Ave, Elizabeth City, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Born in Elizabeth City on November 26, 1952, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Jones, Jr. and Evelyn Sawyer Jones. Prior to his retirement, Glen was a heavy equipment operator at Elizabeth City Brick Company. After his retirement, Glen was a devoted and loving caregiver for his wife, Susie, until her death in 2019.
In addition to his parents, Glen is predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Susan Chambers Jones; and brothers, Wayne, Mike, and Ray Jones.
Surviving is his son, Tony Jones; daughter, Laura Alvarico and husband Roger; two granddaughters, Caylee and Emily Alvarico; a step-grandson, Corey Alvarico (and family); sister, Wanda Tisdale of Elizabeth City; a brother Alan Jones and wife Gail of Paynesville, OH; sister-in-law, LaDonna Jones of Gadsden, AL; and cousin, friend, and fishing buddy, Darrell Braddy. He is also survived by his loving in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Twiford Memorial Chapel. We would like to extend a warm invitation to family and friends for continued fellowship immediately following the service in the lobby.
