Fred Bauer

Elmer "Fred" Bauer, Jr., of Deptford, NJ, passed away August 8, 2022, at the age of 77 years. Devoted son of the late Elmer F. Bauer, Sr. and the late Bertha Catherine Rita Bauer (nee Schnitzler). Beloved father of Keith Frederick Bauer of Taneytown, MD, Theodore Jerome Bauer of Deptford, NJ, and the late Samantha A. Miner. Proud grandfather of Joshua Bauer, Noelle Miner, Tiffany Miner, Janaye Miner, David Miner, and Samantha McKrush; great-grandfather of Ayden, Aydrian, Dillon, Wyatt, Carmen, and Alex. Loving brother of Wendy Adair (George).
Fred served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he fought from 1966 - 1967. He worked for many years as a crew dispatcher for Conrail. He was deeply dedicated to Little League baseball, even playing as an alternate in the Little League World Series. He went on to coach Little League for his sons as well as the rest of the community. He would often go above and beyond for his players, picking them up for practice if they didn't have a ride, and giving extra time to players who needed a little more coaching. Fred was an all-around kind and generous man who would truly give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. He was a hard worker and always gave one hundred percent of himself to anything he was involved in. He was devoted to his family and loved nothing more than caring for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Fred also enjoyed collecting model trains.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022, 11:00 AM at Locustwood Memorial Park, 1500 Marlton Pike W., Cherry Hill, NJ 08002. Please note that services will begin promptly at 11:00 AM, there will be no visitation time prior. The family requests that attendees please wear their choice of shorts, sandals, and t-shirts.
