Fred Burke Obituary

He was born on June 5, 1946, in Muncie to Fred and Martha (Wedmore) Burke and has lived in Alexandria since 1979. Fred was a graduate of Muncie Central High School- Class of 1964. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Fred retired from production at Guide-Lamp, formerly of Anderson, in 1996 after 30 years of employment. Fred was a master woodworker. Family and friends have been recipients of gifts and furniture that were handcrafted with love by his skilled hands. Fred had a great heart for service to his Lord and always was instant in season with his witness for Jesus. He was known to leave Christian witness cards in restaurants for others to find. Fred served as Pastor of the Vermillion Friends Church in rural Alexandria for 4 years. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant enter in."

2 Sons-Brian (Heather) Burke of Anderson, Steve (Shannon) Burke of Heath, Ohio
Grandchildren-Kaeden Burke, Rylen Burke, Alex Burke, Evan Burke, Lauren Burke and Joshua Abrams
Brother-Terry Burke of Yorktown
Brother-in-law-Steve Bourff of Alexandria
Nieces and nephews
He was preceded by his father, by his mother, his wife of 47 years Vicki Bourff Burke in 2020, a daughter-Debbie Abrams, Brother-Ken Burke
At Fred's request, cremation has taken place. Private interment of cremains will take place in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Vermillion Friends Church, 2961 East 800 North, Alexandria, IN 46001.
Pastor Fred's care and simple cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria.
