Fred Allen Casseday II, age 58, life-long resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died unexpectedly at home in the early hours of Saturday, January 11th, 2025.
Allen was born on September 11th, 1966 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Iva and Fred Casseday. He graduated from Red Bank High School in 1986. Allen worked a long career as a Printing Pressman, remaining with Smurfit WestRock for 31 years. Allen was happily married to Kristy Casseday, his companion and co-conspirer, in 1993. On March 27th, 1999, and February 21st, 2003 respectively, he welcomed his son and daughter.
Besides his friends and family, Allen was not known for being a "people-person." Instead, he spent his free time watching videos about Bigfoot, learning about pickling (or whatever hobby he had most recently picked up), or flooding his family's inbox with TikTok's. While these are all hobbies his family teased him for, there was a key piece of Allen that they were all united in, he adored the outdoors his whole life. As a child, he spent as much time as possible camping, fishing, and hunting with his father and uncles. He then passed those traditions down to his own children and grandchildren. When he couldn't be down at the lake or in the woods, he was planning the next time he could be. He will be remembered by his family as a devoted husband, a dedicated father, and a steadfast son; but more than that he will be remembered as a laugh in the woods, a smile at a silly video, a classic rock song on the radio. Allen won't be held under one pretentious memory but will continue to pester in the small details of everyday life.
Allen was predeceased by his father, Fred Casseday; his grandparents; and several uncles and aunts. He is survived by his mother, Iva Casseday; his wife, Kristy Casseday; his children, Benton and Mattie Casseday; his daughter-in-law, Katelyn Casseday; his granddaughters, Addison and Avery; his sister, Christy (Lance) Johnson; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The visitation is scheduled for 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16th, 2025, at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike, Soddy Daisy, TN 37379. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 17th, 2025, with Pastor Jerry Hanson officiating.
