Celena H. Casseday

Celena Heckman Casseday, 86, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born January 7, 1937 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Archie and Catherine Jones Heckman. Her beloved husband, Edward P. Casseday preceded her in death on December 18, 2012.
Celena was employed as a legal secretary and later at the Franklin County Probation Office until her retirement. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg where she was part of several women's groups. She was also a member of ABWA and NARFE.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Deardorff (husband Doug) of Chambersburg; two granddaughters, Kylee VanHorn (husband Sean) of Carbondale, CO, and Kameron Schuler of Boulder, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents and husband, Celena was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Faust and Julia McNew.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Jane Nicholson will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment in Norland Cemetery will be private. The family requests the omission of flowers and memorial contributions be made to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43 W.
