Fred "Joe" Joseph Hagar, 65, of Chillicothe, IL, formerly of Goshen, IN, went peacefully to be with the Lord Wednesday at 8:10 pm at OSF Saint Francis Medical Hospital in Peoria, IL. He was born November 21, 1948, to Woodrow S and Margaret (Lemley) Hagar in Goshen, IN. He graduated from Millersburg High School in 1966 and from Twin City Barber College East Chicago, IN, in 1969. On May 9, 1970, he married Linda D. Fisher at Peoples Bible Church in Benton, IN. Surviving along with Linda are their four children and thirteen grandchildren. Sons, Victor (Michelle) of Millersburg, IN, and Woody (Erin) of Syracuse, IN. Daughters, Valerie (Kevin) Chupp of Syracuse, IN, and Margee (Matt) Stump of Chillicothe, IL. Grandchildren: Andrew and Andrea Hagar; Stephanie, Jodie and Brad Chupp; Jonathon, Timothy, Nicholas, Samantha, Nate and Jessica Stump; and Alex and Gabe Hagar. A sister, Sara Peters, of Syracuse, IN, and many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents. Fred worked as a barber for 20 years. For the next 25 years he worked as a professional driver in transportation and logistics. Fred and his wife also ministered to many couples through their marriage ministry. Fred served in the US Navy from 1968 – 1972. Fred most enjoyed spending time with his family and loved watching his grandchildren participate in their sports activities. Viewing for Fred in Illinois will be Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Cedar Hills Baptist Church from 2pm to 3pm with a celebration of life service following. Viewing for Fred in Indiana will be Sunday, October 5, 2014, at Rieth-Rohrer Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen from 4pm to 7pm. A graveside service will be Monday at 10 am at Baintertown Cemetery, New Paris. Memorials may be made to Cedar Hills Baptist Church Co-op in Dunlap, IL, or Living Water Ministries in Shipshewana, IN.
