Fred "Eber" Wolf, age 91, of Gaylord, Michigan, passed away on September 14, 2024. Eber was born on July 24, 1933, in Gaylord, Michigan the son of Fred and Georgia (Kidder) Wolf.
Eber graduated from Johannesburg High School and entered the United States Army where he served for two years during the Korean War. Eber was a proud Army veteran and would often volunteer with the VFW and would put out flags at Mt. Home Cemetery and Meridian Line Cemetery.
Eber was a member of RSVP and loved to bake cookies and make strawberry jam. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Gaylord, where he would help with different luncheons and activities and additionally served as an usher. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors and was a loving father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren.
Eber is survived by his children; Leora (Sal) Buzzette, and Debra (Don) Lucas; step-children, Sue Sumampow, and Debra Pike; grandchildren; Geno (Jennifer), Curtis, Phillip (Samantha), Devon, Darrin, Gary Jr. (Christle), Tyler (Amanda), Somer, Scot (Jen) Keskine, Alicia (Brett) McVannel, Trisha (Jay) Lindgren, Robert Jr., Wendy St. Clair, Christopher, Kenneth, Jeffrey, Crystal Worley, Kenneth, Peter and Frank; brother, Elmo; and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Eber was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Earl and Emil; his son, Gary; his stepson, Robert Pike; his first wife, Reida; and his second wife, Joanne.
Visitation for Eber will be begin on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Nelsons Funeral Home, 135 N. Center Ave., Gaylord, MI 49735, until the time of the Funeral Service at 12 Noon. Officiating the Funeral will be Reverend John Naile.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
