Freda Nicholson

May 30, 1929 - February 27, 2025
Freda B. Nicholson, 95, passed away peacefully at home in Jeffersontown, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of Mitchell and Bessie Hall and a devoted mother to Mike (Louisa, deceased) Allgeier, Sharon (Paul) Coonan, John Nicholson, Jeff (Sumitra) Nicholson, and Beth (Matthew) Barnickle. She is survived by her five children, thirteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was a graduate of Fern Creek High School and went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Albert H. Allgeier Jr. in 1950. They shared a loving marriage for 34 years. After his passing, she married Dr. John A. Nicholson in 1989, and they were happily married for 29 years.
Freda was a dedicated member of St. Edward Catholic Church, serving as a Eucharistic minister to her parish and local nursing homes and as a member of the choir. Additionally, she was very active in Jefferson County Homemakers, Creative Homemakers, and the Friendship Force. She was an avid tennis and golf player for over 55 years. A passionate traveler, she explored the world, visiting all seven continents and every U.S. state.

Visitation: Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 1-4 PM at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, KY.
Funeral Mass: Monday, March 3, 2025, at 10 AM at Saint Edward Catholic Church, 9608 Sue Helen Dr., Louisville, KY, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
