Saundra J Winé

Saundra J. Winé, 78, died Monday, February 16, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her family.

She was born October 12, 1947, daughter of Warren and Betty Mills Tucker. In addition to her parents, Saundra was preceded in death by twin infants, Hope and Faith Winé.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Gilbert Winé, Jr.; children, Gil Winé (Joy), Lisa Bannon (Dan), Stephanie Wilkinson (Chip), and Chad Winé (Jessica). Saundra was incredibly proud to be "Gram" to 8 grandchildren; Michael and Maranda Winé, Zach and Tyler Bannon, Hannah Lockhart Walters, and Weston and Nathan Lockhart, and Carter Winé; and great grandchildren, Camille and Claire Walters.

She was a dedicated pre-school teacher for 35 wonderful years. She retired at the age of 70 from Jeffersontown Methodist Child Development Center, leaving behind a legacy of love, education, and countless little lives she helped shape. She was a member of Southeast Christian Church, enjoyed traveling with her husband and lifelong friends, and cherished 52 years of monthly outings with her bunco friends.

Graveside service is 11am Friday, February 27, 2026, at Cave Hill Cemetery. Attendees should meet at the Broadway entrance at 10:50am.
