Freda Culbertson Wisley, 98, of Lavaca, Arkansas, passed from this life on Sunday, February 16, 2025. She was born on November 1, 1926, in Kennett, Missouri, to the late Marion Vernon and Katie Bell (Baugher) Culbertson.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Booneville and had worked as a nurse, real estate broker, and insurance agent. Her favorite pastimes included reading, traveling, gardening, painting, trying new recipes, playing Rook and Skip-Bo, attending garage sales and hosting them, caring for her pets, staying up to date with modern technology, and participating in activities with her Sunday school class. She always enjoyed giving and receiving gifts at Christmas. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Thomas Wisley; her son, Paul Franklin Wisley; her grandson, Casey Wayne Thomas; and her parents, Marion and Katie Bell Culbertson.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Roberts Memorial Chapel, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Ronnie Deal of FBC-Greenwood. There will be no graveside service.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
Freda is survived by her daughters, Tommie Wisley Hall of Lavaca, Arkansas, and Jackie Wisley Buckner (Lindel) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her granddaughters, Heather Hall Papageorgiou (Jake) of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Marcia Kay Buckner of Greenwood, Arkansas; her grandsons, Chad Thomas Wisley and Taylor Joseph Wisley, both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her great-grandchildren, Jake T. Papageorgiou of Dallas, Texas, Megan Kate Papageorgiou of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Greyson Leavell, Huxley Wisley, and Emma Wisley, all of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and other relatives and friends.
