Freddie L. Johnson IV

Freddie Lee Johnson IV aka LJ, 40, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, May 10th 2025.
He was born December 30, 1984 in Warren, Ohio to Pamela and Freddie Johnson III.
LJ was a graduate of the University of Akron, the VP and Branch Manager of Erie Insurance for Ohio as a Certified Insurance Counselor. He was employed by Erie Insurance for 20 plus years.
LJ enjoyed a glass of bourbon while watching Ohio sports, playing video games, fishing, supporting the community initiatives, mentoring and coaching.
But most of all, he absolutely loved spending time with his family. Coaching his daughter, Siri's basketball team gave him so much pride and joy. He loved making a fire for marshmallows and smokies, vegging out in front of the fireplace for movie nights, grilling and cooking the best meats (brisket and wings) and chasing the children around the house tickling them, screaming his favorite song lyrics are just a few things we shared with him.
LJ is survived by his wife of 13 years this May, Shannon Johnson; children Heaven, Siri, Giselle and Milena Johnson; loving mother Pamela Johnson-Gibbs; father Freddie Johnson III; brother Timothy (Aimee) Johnson; sister Chaka "Ro" (Liz Cuellar) Dozier; grandmothers Shirley Bell and Pat Johnson; grandfather Leonard Pearson; father and mother in-law Leroy (Katrina) Adams; father-in-law David Rowland; sisters-in-law Shawntia (Will) Falby; Ugonda Gates; Dominque (Brent) Shields; nephews Devon, Isaiah, and Jeremiah; nieces Aaliyah, Amari, and Brooklyn; childhood best friend Michael (Jennifer) Kosmides; special friend Nirav (Nelisha) Patel; aunts and uncles; cousins and friends and co-workers who were like family.
Calling hours are Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at 10 a.m. held at New Pointe Community Church, 5305 Broadmoor Cir NW, Canton, OH 44709 with services following at 12:15 p.m.
Repast will be private and offered to the family and out of town guests at North Canton Eagles 6979 Sunset Ave, North Canton OH 44720.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Zack and his wife Jessica for their selfless generosity and unwavering support. Opening their hall for the repast, lovingly preparing meals and checking on us every day. You are a reminder that even through sorrow, love surrounds us.
