Freddy was born in Carnegie, Oklahoma on May 23, 1950 to David Edward and Margaret Marie (Sawyer) Fletcher. After childhood, Freddy attended Indiahoma High School where he excelled at baseball. Some years later following graduation, he married Debra Holden on May 24, 1972 in Electra, Texas. The couple had celebrated 51 years of years of marriage; and had one son.
Freddy and Deb owned and operated "Pirates Cove" café in Cyril, Oklahoma in the early 80's. Following that adventure - Freddy worked for many trucking companies to include: Williams Transport, Alford Truck and Wrecker, and for many years - Domino Transport before starting his own trucking business, F & D Trucking in 1989. The company merged with Flutters Trucking, Inc in 2017 which was co-founded by Freddy, Debbie, and Jonathan. The marks Freddy left on the trucking community are undeniable and immeasurable.
Freddy will be remembered as a kind, gentle man that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it (and probably has). He loved to tell stories of his childhood and the corniest jokes you ever heard. He was a jack of all trades, master fixer upper who took great pride in his work. In his spare time, fishing, shooting pool, going to the races, and spending time with his son and grandson were his favorite things to do. As Dad and Papa, he had a heart full of love that had no bounds. The lessons he taught us all are keepers and the endless cherished memories he leaves us with will hold us and keep us laughing.
Freddy's spirit is carried on by his son, Jonathan Fletcher of the home; his grandson, Chayse Fletcher; his sister, Debra Chandler and her husband Cecil; a brother-in-law, Greg McNight; and a sister-in-law, Gayla Harper; his office girls – Lisa, Audra, and Krista; company drivers: Chuck, Kevin, James, Randy, Brandon, Drake, Arguell and Andrew; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.
Those that left his journey too soon and welcomed him with open arms: his wife, Debra; his parents David and Marie Fletcher; his brothers David Fletcher and Clarence Brinkley; his sister Barbara McNight; and his sister-in-law Pat.
