Freddy Dean Hamilton

Freddy Dean Hamilton, 74, of Harrah, Oklahoma passed away on October 1, 2025. Born on January 28, 1951, along with his identical twin Franky Gene, in McAlester, Oklahoma to Joel & Edith Hamilton. He lived a full life, rooted in faith, family and friendship. Fred grew up in southeastern Oklahoma, attending Wilburton High School. Soon after, he moved to the Oklahoma City area. Then on to Las Vegas, Nevada with his brother Burl, where they both worked as security guards in the casino circuit. From there he worked with his brother Earl as a fellow correctional officer in the Wyoming Prison System. He tried his hand at raising ostriches for a period of time in there somewhere. His main profession was that of a flooring installer. He did that for many years, these were some of the best years of his life, as he was working alongside some of his other brothers & nephews for Bentleys Carpet in Oklahoma City. They frequently traveled out of town for jobs and they always had lots of very memorable stories to tell. We are still hearing some of those legendary ones to this day. Later in life he was self employed in landscaping, until he retired several years ago. Fred was a very giving person, always there to help whoever needed anything. Everyone knew they could always count on him, he never let you down. He was always upbeat and a joy to be around. He cherished being around family more than anything. He donated a kidney to his older brother Burl 25 years ago so that he could live a normal life. That in itself is a great example of who Fred was. Kidney failure is ultimately what took his own life. He was a rare one and a good one, he will be deeply missed. Fred is preceded in death by his brothers Burl Hamilton & Earl Hamilton (another set of identical twins), Van Hamilton, his own twin Frank Hamilton, and his parents Joel & Edith Hamilton. He is survived by his sister Frankie Sorenson of Oklahoma City, and his brothers Hershel Hamilton of Moore, OK, and Mark Hamilton of Atlanta, GA; with lots of nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be on Saturday October 4th, 2025 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at McCarn Funeral Service in Talihina. Graveside services will be on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 2:00PM at Cupco Cemetery in Yanush, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to McCarn Funeral Service.
