Frederick "Freddy" Edmund Burke and his marvelously warm, kind soul left this earth on Thursday, November 3, 2022. He was born on August 27, 2003 in Lancaster, Ohio. He was the beloved son of (Thomas) Scott Burke and Traci Shreyer, and brother of his adoring sister, Josephine (Joie).
Freddy was a 2022 graduate of Fairfield Union High School. He was funny and fun, bright, loving and kind. His interests were as broad as his smile and stretched from singing to the outdoors. Freddy was the 2021-2022 FFA Chapter Present, student section leader, member of the Assembly Singers, and friend to all. He enjoyed duck hunting, and his roles in the school musicals, Footloose, The Sound of Music, and The Little Mermaid. After graduation he worked as a certified welder at Westerman, Inc. in Bremen, Ohio.
Everyone loved Freddy. To know him was to love him, his heart, and the sparkle in his eye. His humor, kindness, and compassion were felt by all, and will last forever with those whose lives touched his. He was a sweet, charming little boy, who grew to be a leader with contagious smile and a laugh that was one of a kind. He filled his life with friends, each one deeply valued, who describe him as genuine, honest, wise, and protective. His love for their daughter Morgan made the Martins his second family, and their home the place to find him.
Frederick is also survived by his grandparents, George and Linda Shreyer and Tom and Betty Burke; aunts Heidi (Jason) Taylor and Cindi West; cousins Alyson (Chris) Lewis, Kate Iles (Dylan Stuck), Tanner Curry, Alex West, Lance Stuck; Dr. Susan Barrett, and many additional much loved extended family members. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Carol Burke.
His family is grateful to everyone that loved Freddy and invites them to join a celebration of his life on Wednesday, November 9th at the home of his grandparents, George & Linda Shreyer (1895 Fairview Rd SE, Bremen, Ohio 43107). Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM to 4:00 PM. Friends and Family will celebrate his life with a ceremony immediately following. Please feel free to bring a lawn chair or quilt to sit on, all events will be outdoors.
A private graveside services will be held for the family the following day.
In lieu of flowers please consider making donations in memory of Freddy to Fairfield Union High School designated to the Theatre Department (Musical) or the FFA Chapter; or to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, or The 988 & Crisis Lifeline.
