Frederick J. "Fred" Grish, age 69, of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025. He was born on June 27, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, to Raymond and Cecelia (Parkinson) Grish.

Fred is survived by his two daughters, Kelly Grish of Lafayette, IN, Jenna Grish and her significant other, Mario Sloss, of Merrillville, IN; sister, Theresa Heneghan; two brothers, Jim (Beth) Grish, Tobar Grish; former spouse, Jeanne Grish; longtime friend, Gordie Zwick; close friend, Krissy Ball; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Cecelia Anne Grish; four brothers, Raymond Grish, Jr., Kenny Grish, Bob Grish, and Joe Grish.

Fred graduated from Taft High School, class of 1974. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Northeastern Illinois University with a Minor in Criminal Justice. Fred was an extremely hard worker as he put himself through college while working full-time and taking night classes. He worked for over 30 years at the Indiana Dunes as a Park Ranger and retired, and went on to work at the State Park as a Security Officer for over a decade. Fred enjoyed the outdoors, was a Boy Scout, and for years he attended the Annual Scout Reunion at Mauthe Lake. He enjoyed having a beer and a cheap cigarette at The Village Tavern and never missed a Karaoke or Trivia Night. Fred made it his personal mission to keep the bars in Chesterton in business. He might as well have owned one or two. Fred was a provider and he always said that his daughters were his two greatest achievements in life.

Funeral Ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304 with Pastor Ross Reeder officiating.
