Frederick Hans Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Strunk Funeral Home Inc. - Wilson Borough on Jan. 9, 2026.
Frederick Edwin Hans Jr., of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born on February 6, 1947, in Easton, Pennsylvania, Frederick was the son of Frederick Edwin Hans and Cora Gibbs Hans. He lived a life defined by quiet strength, dedication to family, and steady service to others.
Frederick was the beloved husband of Susan Albrough Hans, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Together, they built a family that was always at the center of his life and his greatest source of pride.
In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by his sons, Brian Hans of St. Augustine, Florida, and Michael Hans of Baltimore, Maryland. He was a proud grandfather to Amelia Hans of Baltimore, who is currently attending the University of Maryland.
Frederick dedicated much of his professional life to Metropolitan Edison, where he was respected for his strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to mentor others. He retired in 2005 after many years of faithful service.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era, stationed in Germany as a Military Police officer. He attained the rank of Specialist Five (SP5) and was honorably discharged.
Outside of work, Frederick enjoyed coaching sports, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was an active member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, where his faith and sense of community were evident to those around him. His presence was steady, thoughtful, and deeply valued by family, friends, and all who knew him.
Frederick will be remembered for his integrity, devotion to family, and quiet leadership. He will be deeply missed.
Private services will be held under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Easton. Burial will take place at Northampton Memorial Shrine in Easton, Pennsylvania. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com
