Fred was born May 8, 1939 in Winchester, the son of the late Frederick R. Jones and Gladys Bell Jones. He married Helen L. Cooper May 10, 1962. He was a member of the local Eagles and attended New Life Christian Church. He loved the outdoors; and spent his free time fishing, bird watching, and using his riding mower on the yard. He loved the calmness water brought to his soul, no matter if he was sitting at the beach, along a riverbank, or at a pond.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen L. Jones; his daughter, Tammy R. Knight (Tony) of Woodstock, VA; grandchildren, Jessica L. Miller (Jason), Kevin W. Berry, Jared E. Jewell, Brittany N. Heinricks; and great grandchildren, Jordyn, Jase, Briana, Grayson, Zeven, Leilyn, Remy, and Briar. Along with his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his son, Frederick R. Jones Jr.; and all his siblings.
All services will be private at this time.
