Frederick "Babe" Prezioso, a cherished soul known for his loving nature, humor, and generosity, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, in Allendale, New Jersey. Born on April 22, 1931, in New York City, Babe's journey through life was marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, and a passion for the simple joys in life.
Babe proudly served his country as a Navy veteran during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he continued to serve the public by working in the hospital systems for the city of New York, where his hard work and dedication were evident to all who had the pleasure of working alongside him. An avid sports fan, with a special place in his heart for the New York Rangers, Giants, and, most of all, his beloved Yankees. His enthusiasm was infectious, and he cherished the moments watching his grandsons play hockey, always standing at the glass with a beaming smile.
His fondness for playing the slot machines was well-known among his friends and family. He looked forward to his bus trips to Atlantic City and afterwards would let his family know if he made a deposit or preferably a withdrawal.
Those who knew Babe will remember a man who was the embodiment of love, humor, and generosity. His stories, often filled with nostalgia and wit, would always have everyone laughing. Babe had the rare gift of making everyone feel like family, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Frederick "Babe" Prezioso lived a full life, rich with great experiences, laughter and love. His memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we take solace in the knowledge that his presence will live on in the hearts of his family and the countless lives he touched.
Babe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Prezioso. He was a loving father to his son Michael and his daughter Christine Johnston, a caring father-in-law to Regina and Andy and a proud grandfather to Christopher, Robert, Kevin, and Mark. His joy multiplied with the addition of his granddaughter-in-law, Millie, and he was over the moon with the recent birth of his great-grandson, Theo Frederick, who will carry on his legacy.
Family and Friends are invited to the visitation on Sunday, July 13th, from 2-6 P.M. at Provenzano Lanza Funeral Home, 43 Second Ave New York, NY.
