Frederick Schweitzer Obituary

Frederick A Schweitzer, age 67, passed away suddenly on September 1st at the Medical Center with his wife by his side. He was born in Lincoln Park, New Jersey to the late Frederick and Ann Schweitzer. He was married on August 7,1993 to the love of his life, LeAnn.

Fred was an electrician by trade, graduating from Sussex County Vo-Tech in 1976. He moved to Bowling Green in the 80's to pursue a career in the area retiring from BGMU as Maintenance Supervisor with the Waste- Water Division.

Fred was "the man", the glue of the family as many would say. He was always there when you called ready to do what was needed and never asked for anything in return. Surviving family wife, LeAnn; children by marriage: Brandon Henry and daughter Stephanie Henry, grandchildren: Savannah, Langston, Landon, and Keturah, great grandchildren King, Aliya, Ridge; Brother Dan Schweitzer (Geri), Jill Bell (Scott): Niece and Nephew: Daniel and Kate Schweitzer and other family members on both sides

He touched countless lives with his kindness and generosity. Friends called on him for troubleshooting electrical issues that being his pride, or repair on mechanical problems. He would just lend an ear if that's all that was needed and offer a cold beer, a piece of deer jerky from the season, and a good song playing on his radio.

He took great pride in spending time with teaching his children and grandchildren about farming, hunting, the core values of life and hard work. Time for fun was a must. Riding 4-wheelers, learning how to drive the boat, fishing and camping, and help on the mini farm.

Even in his toughest moments, he was known to crack a joke and wear his signature smile-always paired with his infamous mustache. Fred's presence will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

There will be a visitation Friday, September 19th from 3-6PM at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with a prayer service from 6-7pm followed by informal gathering at 486 Carter Lane.
